We only provide services that are based on sound science, work easily for the customer and give the maximum environmental benefit. Our customers are welcome to visit any of our facilities and this way all of the shops, offices, and businesses who recycle with First Mile can be sure their waste goes to the best place.
Carbon Neutral Company
We recognise the impact our own operations have on the environment, and work tirelessly to reduce our carbon footprint. Any unavoidable emissions are offset by financing renewable energy projects that save one tonne of Co2 for every tonne we emit. First Mile is London’s only carbon neutral recycling company.
Rewarding recycling
We are constantly looking for ways to do more for our customers. We wanted to reward the offices and shops we work with for their recycling achievements and incentivise them to do more. Therefore we now commit to removing an additional tonne of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere for every tonne you recycle.
Small Steps Project
Many countries around the world have underdeveloped waste infrastructure that result in families making a living as waste pickers on landfill sites.
We are proud to support Small Steps who work to raise the awareness of these people, deliver them aid and improve the livelihoods of children and their families living on landfill sites around the world.
We donate £10 for every new customer and £2 per year for every current customer.
