BFI's Challenge

The British Film Institute (BFI) is home to a wide array of film events and festivals. We provide waste collection services to their prestigious IMAX theatre and multi-screen cinema at Southbank, including a bar, café, and restaurant.

We’ve worked with BFI since 2019.

BFI has made sustainable management of waste from each of its locations a top priority.

With multiple sites attracting heavy footfall in busy areas of central London like Southbank and Fitzrovia, they needed a reliable recycling solution that adhered to strict council time restrictions.

How did First Mile help?

We have successfully implemented regular waste collections that includes Mixed Recycling as well as source-separated streams such as Coffee Grounds and Food Recycling.

By adding additional recycling services and diversifying their streams, BFI were able to boost their recycling rate and send nothing to landfills.
