British Film Institute

Public Venue

Their Challenge

The British Film Institute (BFI) is home to a wide array of film events and festivals. Since 2019 we have provided waste collection services to their prestigious IMAX theatre and multi-screen cinema at Southbank, including a bar, café, and restaurant.

With multiple sites attracting heavy footfall in busy areas of central London like the Southbank and Fitzrovia, they needed a reliable recycling solution that adheres to local council time-band restrictions.

First Mile's Solution

We helped BFI to successfully implement Mixed Recycling as well as source-separated streams such as Coffee Grounds and Food Recycling.

By adding additional recycling services and diversifying their streams, BFI were able to boost their recycling rate and send nothing to landfill.
